The 54th Annual Ginza Holiday, a large Japanese cultural festival, will be presented by the Midwest Buddhist Temple on Aug 7, 8, and 9 at 435 W. Menomonee Street in Chicago’s historic Old Town. For more information go to the website ginzachicago.com
Our annual dance will feature shave ice and lemonade for sale. There is no chicken teriyaki offered for sale at this event. The hondo/chapel and nokotsudo/columbarium will be open from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm to offer incense.
Dance practice nights are at 7:30 pm on Monday June 29th, Wednesday July 1, Monday July 6, Wednesday July 8 and Thursday July 9. Come learn this very simple dance.
Please join us for a Welcome Back Luncheon for Socho Ogui, July 19, 2009 at 11:30 am.
The menu choices will be Rotisserie Chicken or a Teriyaki Veggie Burger dinner with drink and dessert.
Tickets are $6 for Adults and $5 for Seniors and Students.

Our Sunday service will begin 45 minutes earlier during the summer months.

We are offering a series of lectures on Buddhism that will give you a foundation to work upon. Sensei Siebuhr will explain the origins of Buddhism and how the different sects came to be.
